About Biggers Bluff

Elizabeth Bigger moved to the Hardy, Arkansas area in 1882, as a widow with three young sons. Shortly thereafter the sons become known as the "Biggers Boys" and the family permanently added an "s" to their name. One son, Robert S. (Bob) Biggers became a well-known and successful merchant in the area.

In April, 1903, President Teddy Roosevelt granted a 160 acre homestead to the Biggers family, and in 1918, after 15 years of working the homestead, Robert S. Biggers built a home. The current Biggers Bluff main house and 6 acres are what is left of the Biggers homestead.

In the 1990's the property was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Loberg. Mr. Loberg renovated and updated the home, while maintaing the it's charm and character, and Mrs. Loberg opened it as a Bed & Breakfast. The property was later purchased by David and Valerie Bathrick who operated Biggers Bed & Breakfast and The Bluff Steak house for eight years. In 2011, the property was purchased by the current owners, Keith and Janet Chism.
